Thank you for your interest in our primitive lighting and home decor. Just as in yesteryear, all of our hardwired lighting is handcrafted from start to finish. Because of the nature of our products, please note that there will be imperfections and irregularities that signify our products as uniquely handcrafted. All of our metal products are dipped in an antiquing solution and hand-rubbed for a distinctive patina. Our wooden chandeliers are distressed and are uniquely painted or stained to give them a weathered finish. Whatever product you choose, know that your selection will be made to look old making it an authentic reproduction. Some of our products are imported. Most, but not all, of our products that are made in the USA is noted for your information. If you are concerned about ordering products that are made in the USA, please check with us before placing your order. The products that are imported began as designs from American artists and metalsmiths that are reproduced overseas by skilled craftsmen.
If you are lighting a new home or addition and are working with deadlines, please let us know so that we can do our very best to help you complete your project in a timely manner.
Some of our crafters work from their homes and workshops and do not mass manufacture their products. Consequently, some products are not UL (Underwriters Laboratories) Listed. All electrified fixtures that are UL Listed are noted for your information. Please know that all of our unlisted lighting are wired with UL approved electrical parts and are tested for safety. However, some townships, districts and municipalities have strict codes preventing certified electricians from installing lighting that is not UL Listed in newly constructed or remodeled homes. Payment Policy
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay. We require full payment before your order is processed, regardless of whether merchandise is in stock or is custom ordered.
Shipping Policy
Orders shipped are typically delivered via ground service from FedEx or through the US Postal Service. Our shopping cart will allow shipping to the continental United States only. We cannot guarantee when an order will arrive. Consider any shipping or transit time offered to you by The Tin Bin or other parties only as an estimate. We encourage you to order in a timely fashion to avoid delays caused by shipping or product availability.
We offer a flat rate shipping charge of $9.99 on ALL orders. All orders are shipped complete (no partial shipments) unless something is drop shipped from our crafter. If we need to cancel something off of your order due to an inventory shortage, we will contact you to offer a substitution if possible. If we cannot reach you in a reasonable time frame, we reserve the right to ship the order with the appropriate edit and refund so that we can get it to you as quickly as possible.
Returns
You have 30 days to return any items, provided they are returned to us in their original condition. No shipping charges to or from our store are refundable.
Please note that returns will need to be sent to the following address: The Tin Bin, 20 Valley Road, Lancaster PA 17601. Include your order number and/or name inside the box so we an properly process your return.
Consider insuring your return with whichever carrier you use to send the order back to us. If we receive the items damaged, we cannot process a return. Having the package insured would allow you to make a claim to be reimbursed for your purchase price from the carrier if you meet their qualifications.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order as soon as you receive it and contact us at sales@thetinbin.com if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. Include photos of damaged merchandise and any damaged packaging in case we need to make a claim with our carrier. We cannot be responsible if the item is not what you expected as all of our photographs and sizes are approximations of our inventory.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have and make a separate purchase for the new item.
Refunds
If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too. If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at sales@thetinbin.com.
Taxes
The Tin Bin shall automatically charge and withhold the applicable sales tax for orders to be delivered to addresses within Pennsylvania. For orders shipped to other states or countries, you are solely responsible for all sales taxes or other taxes and tariffs.
Inventory
All of our time frames are approximations. Most of our lighting is made to order by our craftsmen and therefore, the length of delivery time is dependent on how many orders they have and many other factors. Please be patient for your order, but feel free to call in and check on an estimated time of delivery if you have waited longer than the approximated time frame.
If you would like to place an order online and pick it up in the store (saving shipping costs), upon checkout choose IN-STORE PICKUP and choose our location. We will not ship your order - instead we will call or email you to let you know when your order is ready for pick up.
We keep inventory of our most popular items but some things are made to order, namely our wooden lamps and chandeliers and our outdoor lighting. If you need to know the availability of a particular item, please contact us.
If some products are not in stock, there is an option to put yourself on a Waiting List. When that item becomes available, you will receive an email to alert you if you want to place an order. Please be advised that quantities are limited and other people may also be on the waiting list. It will be on a first come, first served basis. At times, our vendors discontinue merchandise without our knowledge. Therefore, The Tin Bin shall have the right to refuse or cancel any such orders whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit card charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is canceled, The Tin Bin shall immediately issue a credit in the amount of the unavailable merchandise.
We do try to provide as much information as possible on all of our products, including measurements where applicable. Please be advised that all measurements are approximations and will not be exact. Colors can look different when photographed, so all images are the best likeness possible, though the product may look different in person. Bulbs are not included with any lighting fixtures unless explicitly stated.
Typographical Errors
In the event you order a product that is listed at an incorrect price due to typographical error or error in pricing information received from our suppliers, The Tin Bin shall have the right to refuse or cancel any such orders whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit card charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is cancelled, The Tin Bin shall immediately issue a credit in the amount of the incorrect price.
